Welcome to the weird and wild mind of Amy Schumer, who in a recent Instagram post claimed a bold claim that she is and we quote, "the most successful female comedian of all time."

Now, we don't know how she is measuring this success. Did she bring audiometers to her shows and track the decibels of laughs over the years, and if she had, is there a database for such laugh measurements? Is she counting the number of zeros in her bank account? Regardless, it's a tough claim to back up.

The context behind her claim is long and can be best understood by scrolling through the last few weeks of her social media posts. You can do that if you please. But I'm not here to talk about that, I'm here to talk about her claims.

Schumer has been a contentious figure in the stand-up world for as long as I can remember. It seems most people don't like her because as they put it, "she isn't funny" and when she is funny it's because she "stole another joke from a better comedian."

In her defense, Amy has been the focus of many jokes, roasts, and trolls for the entirety of her comedy career. Whether the mountain of dunks she's received is warranted is not our call.

However, her critics aren't entirely misguided. The comedian has been accused of stealing jokes from Mad TV, Twitter, Daniel Tosh, Kathleen Madigan, Ellen DeGeneres, Dave Atell, Ali Wong, Louis C.K., Dave Chappelle, and John Mulaney, to name of few.

So while success as a comedian can't be measured by the money in your bank account, or how loud your audience laughs, she might have a point about being the most successful comedian to ever make a career off the jokes of others, and to her credit, that is some form of success.
